High-risk consultation, including pre-conceptional counseling

Fetal and Neonatal Alloimmune Thrombocytopenia (NAIT or FNAIT), occurs in approximately 1:1000 to 1:10,000 births.

This condition results from the presence of maternal antibodies against paternal platelet antigen (Human Placental Antigen, HPA-1a).

Our group is a resource to patients, obstetricians, maternal-fetal medicine subspecialists, and other physicians for consultation and management of high-risk pregnancies. Patients with a priori high-risk conditions considering pregnancy can make an educated decision about their decision based on a thorough evaluation of their preconceptional status.
